Two Boys Volleyball Programs Ranked in NC Top 20

DPS Boys Volleyball

Boys volleyball has yet to become an NCHSAA sanctioned sport but two Durham programs have dominated the sport in North Carolina since their inception.

Both teams currently sit ranked in the top 20 in North Carolina according to MaxPrep’s North Carolina Boys Volleyball (Spring 2025) Rankings.

Riverside Pirates

The Pirates sit at 12-4 overall and a 1-0 conference record. 

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 16-5 and a conference record of 5-1.

Jordan Falcons

The Falcons sit at 10-2 overall and a 4-1 conference record. 

Last season the Falcons finished with an overall record of 12-3 and a conference record of 5-1. 

Being conference opponents the Pirates and Falcons have faced off several times over the last three seasons. 

Out of four regular season games that these two teams have played during that time Riverside has won three of those four games. 

Both teams will face off again on April 30 at Jordan with Riverside having won the last match-up on March 21.
